LIGHT Machines

It's sure been a while since I've experimented with this deck.

But definetely, Machina Armored Unit is one broken card, especially with recruiters.

Cyber Dragon to Blue Thunder to Lord British to Jade Knight to Cyber Valley is so amazing.

But honestly, Jade Knight is really a big star of my deck.

In tandem with Cyber Phoenix and the myraid of defensive spell and trap cards, I'd probably be unstoppable.

However, Cyber Phoenix doesn't work well with Machina Armored Unit due to its FIRE attribute.

Hmm...what other FIRE cards are good then to make this deck viable...

UFO Turtle and Trigon?

Count me in.

Infernity Barrier

Well, I just found this information out recently, but it seems Infernities are getting their own DAMN Solemn Judgement!

It says something along the lines of:

Attack mode Infernity + no cards in Hand = Negate a Spell, Trap, or Monster effect and destroy it.

Daaaamnnnn

A control build of Infernities are definetely viable!

But!

Daaaaamnnnnn

Sunday Local Report

Well today was a rather good day, as I had such a great time.

My friend Steve was there today, so I was looking forward to having a good time.

At the last moment, I decided to run my brother's deck instead of my usual Synchro Cat variant. However, I made a few changes to the deck, such as dropping his card for card removal in favour of Book of Moon x3.

I'm sure I caught some people by surprise..LOL

I don't really recall how I managed to get through the day, but in the end, I made Top 4, winning 3 Turbo Pack 2 packs.

The decks I faced, in order, was Lightsworn, Fish OTK, Macro Monarch, GearMachina, and Lightsworn.

I beat the first three matches thanks to some good playing and better siding. I then lost to my brother, running his build of Machinas, and then to Aldrian's Lightsworn build.

In the end, I went 3-2, managing to get into Top 8 thanks to good tiebreakers.

I went against Nathan again in Top 8, beating out his Macro Monarch deck again. Then I lost to Albert in Top 4...LOL

Who knew going against my brother was such a pain.

But anyways, I got three Turbo Packs, and I managed to pull a super rare Magical Dimension.

Yeaaaa...the 2 rare My Body as a Shield were definetely better pulls.

Still, I got the only shiny card from the winning packs at least.

Afterwards, I went and bought Final Fantasy 13 at Future Shop! They had six copies left, so I was glad to have made it there in time.

So yea, the day was really good.

And Rocks can actually do some pretty good beating when you play with it.

New News

Well, I go away for a whole day because of a camping trip, and more stuff from the new Duel Terminal and the newest set, Duelist Revolution, has been annouced.

Equip cards are coming back, as introduced in the Veyron Strategy.

Fusions are starting to come back as well, thanks to the new open ended Synchro-Fusion support being utilized.

Lots of new goodies to look forward to in the future for sure.

Regionals

I forgot to blog about this yesterday, but since I have time today, I'll mention it now.

It turns out that my city is holding Regionals. It has finally been annouced!

I hope that the Regionals are actually going to be held in a rented out hotel, unlike last year, holding the same Regionals in the hobby shop.

There was not enough space for every person who came there, which isn't good.

This year, I look forward to playing against a lot of good players there.

Sunday Locals Report

Well, it sure has been a while. Since my last blog post, and since my last locals report.

I'm going to do an ALL DETAIL REPORT for once as the return to Constructed Format has made me happy.

With the return to Constructed Format this week at my locals, the place was bustling by the time I got there! I believe there were over 15 duelists. It was going to be one good day.

Arriving around noon, I payed my money, and got ready to duel. I didn't get to trade a lot before hand, although I was able to borrow a Tragoedia for my Flamvell Cat deck.

As well, for this report, I am going to report my games in a different way, because a game by game set up is pretty hard for my memory.

Round 1: OXO vs Josh's Machiners

Game Details:

Coming into this matchup, this was my first time going up against a Machiners Deck.
So I came into it all noobish. Game 1, I managed to survive his assualt on me by a bit, and made a turn around. Game 2, he drops two Machiners Fortress on his first turn, and I cannot get past his floaters. Game 3, Pulling the Rug finally came throguh for me as a good side deck card, stopping him from bring out his Fortresses with his Gearframes and Soldiers.

Round 2: OO vs Alan's Monarchs

So I am finally going against an person I haven't seen in a while, Alan. After seeing him drop a few Monarchs on me, I realized that his deck was Monarchs. But unfortunately, he didn't get any Treeborn Frogs into his grave, so I was good there. In the end, my Cat deck plays managed to overcome his deck.

Although him using Lightning Vortex to kill off 3 of my Synchros really got me. GOOD.

Round 3: OO vs Josh C's Six Samurai

Now this was a archetype I haven't seen in a long time.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see much of the archetype, as he drew pretty bad cards. His Gateways, I almost always destroyed one turn after he played it. Same with SS United.
My Cat deck just overpowered him...

Seems he hates Stardust Dragon also. >=)

Round 4: OXO vs Aldrian's Lightsworn

And here comes the good old school format deck.

Seeing as how we were both X-) right now, I knew his deck was a good variant of Lightsworn.
I managed to take control in Game 1 with my Cat antics as usual, seeing as how he drew rather badly. Game 2, he got the better of me, as his drawing engine goes off. Seeing mill after mill, I know that Judgement Dragon was coming, and it came and wrecked me. Game 3, I sacked my friend rather badly...drawing Kycoo right after one of them was destroyed. And so, I continue on, undefeated.

Round 5: OO vs Shaun's Machiner Gadgets

Another Machiners deck..but this time more control oriented than the first one I dueled.
While I was able to see some crazy moves being made by the Machiners, a well-timed Mirror Force ruined his plans in Game 2. From then, hand control thanks to my Airbellums sealed me the duel in both games.

So in the end, I go X-0, being undefeated during the Swiss rounds.

I expected some rematches in the Top 8.

Top 8: XOO against Jason's Blackwings

So the first match wasn't against someone I played against in the Swiss. It was against Blackwings. I lost Game 1 rather badly as I had no response to my opponent's early game overextension. So I lost in two turns. LOL

Games 2 and 3 I make a comeback with my offensive Flamvell Cat deck. It seems that losing one Black Whirlwind really does hurt Blackwings a bit.

Top 4: OO against Josh C's Six Samurai

And here was the first rematch of today. Unfortunately, it was a rather similar repeat of our previous match, with my deck taking control strongly early game.

If you can see this, sorry man! Let's have a better game next time!

Top 2: XOO against Aldrian's Lightsworn

And here we are in the finals. Never thought I would go up against Lightsworn already. It shows that Lightsworn is still a good deck.

Game 1 I was pushed back by lots of milling and Celestia plays. There was not much I could do to stop the plays.

Game 2 and 3 I fought back. HARD. In Game 2 he scores a +2 from a CotLB mill thanks to double Wulf milling. But in the end, Mist Wurm and the Hamsters pulls through for me.

In Game 3, I score a massive Summoner Monk / Rescue Cat play thanks to Cyber Dragon taking his Card Trooper and turning into Fortress Dragon. But then he uses Mirror Force on me.

-___-

But I managed to push him back far enough to take the duel. There were some misplays here and there, but still, a Lightsworn deck topping is impressive.

~~~~~
So in the end, I managed to Top. Winning 4 packs, I pull EBI Cusillu from ANPR. So, it was okay overall.
What I really enjoyed today was the diverse meta however. It shows that there are still a lot of decks out there fighting for Tier 1 at the moment.
The Top 8 Decks were:
1 Machiners Gadgets
1 Six Samurai
1 Lightsworn
1 Dark Cat
1 Flamvell Cat
2 Gladiator Beasts
1 Blackwings
This meta is really looking to be fun!
Next week, I'm going to try a new deck out, and hopefully top with it.
Well, that's pretty much it for this report.
I hope you enjoyed reading this.
Until my next blog post.
Miracle Synchro Fusion
Same deal as Miracle Fusion it seems. But better with the Draw One effect and Synchro Fusionist.
"Accel Synchros are FUSIONS??" is what you were about to say.
Nope.
It's just the game keeps getting more complicated as you can fuse practically anything together now.
Duelist Revolution, keep showing us what Konami can think of.
Flamvell Cat
It turns out that this is actually one monster of a deck, topping regionals left and right.
I look forward to playtesting several variants of this deck, in order to find the optimal build.
Right now, the dark side of the deck combines with little rascals and fire to form:
SCURRYING FIRE IN THE DARK
Decklist will be posted whenever I feel like it.
But as a note, it's kinda obvious as to the combination.
Darks + Flamvell + Hamsters
Monster Binder
Well, it seems that I have finally gotten one! WHOO!
Turns out that there is a lot of space for cards in there to be honest.
There was way more than enough to fit all of my current shiny cards.
LOL
But arranging them sure was a pain in the butt.
Anyways, good news!
My Sunday locals are finally returning to Constructed format!
Like finally...
Expect a return to weekly blog posts regarding my locals performance.
I can't wait to test out my new decks.
Well, not really new, just changed.
FAST POWER!
FAST POWAAAR DECK!!!
That is all for today.
Yugioh 5Ds Episode 99
Watching this episode actually was pretty exciting.
So as predicted, Aki did lose in the end, but it was in a pretty awesome way though.
When Yusei mentioned giving Aki a card needed to bring about a turn in the duel, I knew that it was Stardust Dragon.
Besides, what other card in the game could help Aki as much?
So Aki plays out her moves, and brings out both Stardust Dragon and Black Rose Dragon in the same turn with a new tuner monster called Grow Up Bulb.
It's Level 1, and can be revived from the graveyard by sending the top card of your deck to the grave.
Sounds kinda like Plaguespreader...except better. LOL
Plants and Zombies are getting more things in common in the future probably.
Predictions for the next episode?
No Junk Destroyer yet! LOL
Urge to Post
Hmmm....seems that I'm really REALLY bored today.
If you guys have any idea of what you want me to post about, tell me.
I'll probably start talking about decks and what not eventually though...
The Next Deck
Hmm..I said I was going to analyze the ban list and put up a post by yesterday, but to be honest, there really isn't a point to analyze it anymore now that the format has begun.
It's officially the Mar. 1 2010 format, and with a new format comes a new meta.
Mainly what I intend to look out for is Gladiator Beasts.
With all of the hype that GBs have, I'm sure a lot of people will be trying to win more with that card.
Another deck I'll be on the lookout for is Blackwings.
Blackwings were barely touched by the deck, but because of the dawn of a new format, I'm sure a lot of people will be trying a lot of variants for decks now, such as Monarchs, Plants, X-Sabers, Gravekeepers, etc.
I honestly hope Synchro-Cat will be able to evolve into this new format.
Plus I got to look out for Regionals, as well as the mirror match now.
Side Note:
My Pegasus League deck looks pretty sweeet~~~
Yea, gonna need to test it a bit for this one week I'm entering.
Anywasy, this wasn't really a banlist analysis, but more of a "What to Look out For" post.
I hope you people enjoy reading this blog.
Until next time.
Duelist Tin 2010
It turns out that there's going to be 3 different coloured tins with 3 different promos in each of them, in addition to the Starlight Road.
The only good ones are Super Rare One for One and Ultra Rare Junk Synchron.
LOL
Good call Steve.
